The Butlers | Kent Family Photographer
Jayne Nottage
Getting to know the little people I get to capture is one of my highlights of being a photographer. Little Florence has just turned two and is soon to be a big sister. I had the joy of capturing Flossy a year ago when she was just learning to talk and would natter away saying "Nom-ma, Nom-ma, Nom" (lover of snacks!) on repeat and loved to look at book, after book, after book. One year on and Flossy's cuteness hasn't waned.
This year Will and Emily decided to capture some family time out and about. Flossy was on top form! Chatting away, singing to me, dancing, telling me all about her favourite food (mac and cheese) and her preferred CBeebies programmes (Go Jetters being a firm favourite). Even when Flossy had a little wobble about the injustice of being asked to walk in a direction she did not wish to go she was still so crazily lovely. This is the absolute beauty of documentary family photography, you capture you own perfect imperfection (serenades, cute conversation, little tantrums and all).
If there was an award for the most expressive toddler I reckon you'd definitely be a strong contender Flossy. I struggled to choose my favourites from our time together and nearly posted them all but thought that was a bit much so here are my highlights...
